BIOMETRICS is a computerized evaluation and exercise system with electronic instrumentation for active and active resistive exercise of the upper extremity. These exercises also incorporate coordination activities to improve fine motor skills and dexterity. Objective measures include isometric pinch and grip strength and range of motion. This program compares the patients effort and function to normative data to allow for documentation of sub-maximal effort on the part of the patient. The objective data also provides automatic calculation of Impairment Ratings, which serves as a useful tool in workmans compensation and disability cases. This tool may be utilized for individuals following surgery, stroke or injury. The activities performed with the program translate to daily functional activities.
