STRESS TESTING

Treadmill Stress Test - Heart stress test to identify blockages in the vessels of your heart.

Cardiolite Stress Test - Heart stress test following the injection of harmless radioactive material into a vein so that blood flow through the heart can be evaluated.  A part of this test will be performed in the Nuclear Medicine Dept. at the Fayette County Hospital.

Persantine/Cardiolite Stress Test - Heart stress test for individuals who are unable to walk on a treadmill. A drug is injected which dilates blood vessels to imitate exercise.  This is followed by Nuclear studies as above test.

    MISC HEART TESTS

EKG - Heart rhythm strips to detect changes or problems with your heart

Echocardiogram - Evaluation of your heart using ultrasound waves to ascertain any problems with the blood flow through your heart.

Cardiac Doppler - Listening to the heart using a highly sensitive electronic recording device.  Used in combination with an echocardiogram.

Holter Monitor - Evaluation of you heart rhythm by wearing a monitor at home for 24-48 hours.

Cardiac Rehabilitation - Exercise program designed for the cardiac patient following heart surgery or heart attack, to improve cardiovascular fitness while blood pressure and heart tracing is monitored.
